Initial Cost of SIM: Rs. 249/- Initial Validity: 1year; Initial Talk Value: Rs.10/-
Call Charge: Local (Any Network): 0.49 ps; STD to BSNL: 1.20; STD to Other: 1.50; ISD: 7.20/9.60/12
SMS Local: 5ps
Monthly deduction: Rs.20/-(In the name of 2 Friend & Family numbers for calling @20ps) - withdrawn wef 12/6/09

Comparison between New Student Suvidha and Previous Version

New Student Suvidha
1. New Connections Available
2. 5ps per SMS only
3. 1 year validity, No mandatory Recharges
4. 2 Mandatory F&F for Rs. 20/month - 20ps/minute --- witdrawn with effect from 12/6/09

Old Student Suvidha
1. New connections not available, but existing users can continue
2. 2000 SMS/month Free; beyond that 10ps per SMS
3. Recharges for Validity Required
4. 5 F&F Nos for free @30ps
5. No monthly deductions

BSNL Kerala Launched Revised Students Suvidha Plan with the following features:

Card value: Rs. 149/-
Initial validity: 180 days

180 days validity recharge of Rs. 100/- for subsequent validity extensions

All other remain same as New Students Suvidha Plan
